The Dating Game: An SEO Workshop: How do you make your website outperform your competition?

Performed in front of a live studio audience! The game show from the swinging 60s will be recreated with experts discussing how design, content and search engine strategies will deliver the result you are looking for and help you achieve your goals. Three contestants, (chosen from attendees that sign up and submit their site in advance) will receive a live site audit. Dating Game hosts will evaluate the overall effectiveness of each site and provide useful tips and techniques for improvement. From beginner to winner, everyone in the audience is guaranteed to learn something new. There are plenty of fish in the sea – learn how to make your site rise to the surface!

As the workshop comes to an end, contestants will receive lovely parting gifts as we blow a “Dating Game” kiss goodbye!

  • Move beyond basic SEO best practices and get an essential look at the entire Google landscape, including Google+. Participants will learn:
  • Why looking good and reading well is critical to a web site’s success
  • How integrated communication strategies are essential for driving referral traffic
  • How design and thought leadership will convert eyeballs to dollars
  • How to know what prospects are looking for – Branded vs non-branded, attorney vs firm, practice vs issue, local vs industry

  • How to push down directory listings for firm and attorney searches

  Shawn Massie
Director of Business Development

Shawn Massie began his career developing websites and sales tools for the international meetings and events industry in Scottsdale, Arizona. He quickly fell in love with the amount of data Google Analytics and other reporting software provided, and started to optimize sites based on his findings. Soon after, Shawn decided SEO and interactive marketing was an industry where he could really apply this experience full time.

With over five years experience in organic and paid search, social media, content marketing and web development, Shawn has direct experience managing national interactive marketing campaigns for law firms such as Steptoe Johnson, Andrews Kurth and others. Max Thomas. Growing up in a family of weekly newspaper publishers in Louisiana, Max literally grew up with local news. After moving to Florida for high school (go Pine Crest!), he then moved to New York City for college (go Columbia!). After cutting his chops in the fast-paced worlds of fashion and advertising, he got his MBA from Yale (go Bulldogs!) and before graduating started his first online venture with school colleagues. Since then, he’s been involved in several startups and growing companies all of which were “online”. After moving to San Diego, he founded ThunderActive in 2007 to help companies develop their online presence and build their customer base through primarily search. Since then, ThunderActive has evolved dramatically to incorporate nearly all the “organic” channels of interactive marketing.

With over 20 years direct experience across multiple market segments including corporate law firms, ecommerce, health services, consumer goods and travel/leisure, Max a has proven track-record of developing interactive, search and social marketing strategies for building online audiences and sustainable revenue for clients.
