Why your next website redesign project should be your last

Websites, like houses, are not meant to be torn down and rebuilt every three to five years. In this session you will learn how to shift your approach to the firm website and online marketing from slash-and-burn to extend-and-evolve. to reach a more sustainable and ultimately more successful relationship with it.

In this session you will learn how to break down your website into its key integral parts and how to build ongoing maintenance plans for each part that keep the site progressing without a tear-down. You will leave with tools and techniques for getting the maintenance and upkeep of your site under control while also keeping pace with the ever-changing world of online technology. You will also learn tips for defining and preserving your site's long term goals and how to measure the site's performance toward those goals.

Marketing Automation - The death of law firm websites as we know them?

A new technology called Marketing Automation with earth-shaking potential has emerged, and soon it will be available to law firms. This technology is designed to deliver the right content to the exact right person, at just the right time. It will thereby transform your website from an online brochure to a “lead-generation ecosystem” and allow you to:

  • Know your website visitors by name
  • Know every action they take on your website
  • Know when they return
  • Keep track of all of a prospect’s website activity in their CRM profile

It delivers actionable sales data – unlike any that legal marketers have had before. And the insights it provides have the potential to completely transform the business of legal marketing from an art to a data-driven science. It will also change how marketing is perceived within the law firm and give it a bigger seat at the table.

I Spy with My Legal Eye - Boston Interactive Eye Tracking Lab: Providing a way to visualize user interaction to drive effective online marketing

What online content motivates viewers to act? This session will identify what content users seek, how a firm’s website can effectively communicate such, and how to develop a strategy that utilizes technology to measure a site’s ability to do so.

This will be demonstrated utilizing Boston Interactive’s Eye Tracking Lab, a system that provides the technology to visualize user interaction.

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Develop specific Key Performance Indicators that map to business goals
  • Design best practices for delivering effective calls to action and behavioral cues
  • Implement actionable strategies on their current websites to improve overall performance and effectiveness
  • Balance creative design and content to meet audiences’ interests

Per Casey
Tenrec, Inc.

Per founded Tenrec in 1999 with a single goal in mind, to create a company that specialized in web technology and that could build applications, solve problems and provide support to companies utilizing advanced internet-based systems.
Over the next ten or so years, the internet industry tanked, then blossomed, then tanked again and then more or less took off into the stratosphere. Through it all Tenrec has been doing exactly what the company set out to do, helping businesses design, build, connect, launch, and maintain their web-based systems.

Per and Tenrec have both developed a focus on the needs of professional services firms and law firms in particular. Per has led countless website and web technology projects for law firms across North America. Just some of the firms he has worked with include: Morrison Foerster, Drinker Biddle, Bryan Cave, Cozen O’Connor, Fish Richardson, Munger Tolles Olson, Sedgwick Detert Moran & Arnold and Fenwick & West.

When not working for law firms, Per has worked with some of the world's leading companies. Per has led web technology projects for Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Genentech, LucasArts and IDG. He has also worked with many non-profits including the Oregon Community Foundation, Seton Institute and the Employment Law Alliance.

Per lives with his wife, two kids, and two dogs in Napa, CA. When not at work he hopes you’ll find him camping, fishing, or traveling the world, but most likely he’s just in his backyard mowing the lawn or playing basketball.
